My role is to help senior executives seeking employment or a new career direction to adjust to their situation, develop a career strategy and find their ideal opportunity.

Once a client has found employment, I help them to adapt to their new organisation and advance in their roles through coaching.

I offer my services globally through a combination of in-person and remote consultation.

I have spent over forty-five years in business, including thirty years running Milward International, a strategic change consulting firm I founded in 1992.

I have lived and worked in several countries where I have consulted with several hundred organisations.

My consulting work has given me diverse experience in strategic change. This work includes coaching executives and executive groups, organisation-wide behaviour change, restructuring and M & A.

I have twelve years of experience as a non-executive director, and I have developed a global network of influential contacts that I draw on to help my clients.

I am a Chartered Psychologist (CPsychol), registered with the British Psychological Society and an Associate Fellow of the Society (AFBPsS). My specialist area is social-organisational psychology, the study of people’s behaviour in groups. I am also a social statistician. I have a PhD in Critical Management from Lancaster University Management School in England. Through my research, I extended our understanding of the social-psychological mechanisms that motivate behaviour in work groups. The distinguished business psychologist, Professor Sir Cary L. Cooper, CBE, supervised my research.

I also have an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in the United States, an MSc in Statistics and Social Research Methods from the University of Manchester, England and an MSc in Social and Behavioural Sciences from the University of Salford, England.

I am also authorised by the British Psychological Society to conduct psychological testing (Test User: Occupational, Personality at Level 2).

My forty-five years of experience as an employee, entrepreneur, psychologist, employer, management consultant, non-executive director, researcher and coach make me uniquely qualified to help the most senior executives with all matters related to the development of their careers.

Outside work, I am a keen photographer. I also like to keep fit, travel, pursue further education, and learn to play acoustic guitar.

My role includes providing career transition advice to senior executives seeking a new position and helping employer organisations find, manage, develop and retain human capital.

I base my professional approach on the premise that organisations cannot be effective unless they employ the right people in the right jobs. Therefore, I help executives with a detailed analysis of their suitability for specific roles.

In addition, I help Human Resources executives and others involved in the recruitment process to evaluate an executive candidate’s suitability for a role. I also facilitate online courses for Human Resource executives and others to improve their skills in finding, managing, developing and retaining human capital.

To complement these services, I contribute to individual and group executive development programmes based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of people’s behaviour.

I have consulted with several hundred organisations across a wide range of industries in the United Kingdom, Sub-Saharan Africa, Hong Kong and China. In addition, I have coached over one thousand executives in people-related skills, completed over three-hundred job analyses and given feedback to above two-thousand people about their abilities, aptitudes and personal style. I have also presented at over fifty conferences.

I have a BA degree in Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BCom (Hons) in Industrial Psychology from UNISA.

Outside work, my interests include spending time with my family, reading, hiking in the mountains or on the beach, yoga, pilates and going to the gym. In addition, I enjoy the glorious South African outdoors, a barbecue with friends, and some excellent South African red wine.
